Chicago O'Hare International Airport
Directions & Transportation
 

Driving Directions to Hotel from O’Hare Airport: Take 294 North which becomes 94 North to Half Day Road Exit. Turn Left. Approx. 2 miles to Milwaukee Avenue, Turn Left. Turn Left at first stoplight into Marriott entrance on Marriott Drive, 1/4 mile south of Half Day Road.

The Chicago O’Hare International Airport is the most convenient and closest to Marriott Lincolnshire.  We will be providing pickup service to all conventioneers at a centralized and designated pickup location at this airport only.  This will allow for hassle free pick up of all conventioneers from one location. So regardless of the terminal you fly in to Chicago, you will avail of the ATS (Airport Transit System), a train system to take you to this central location. More info on the exact location of this pickup point later.

We will be providing 6 (Six)  15-passenger vans, ready to take you to and from our Convention venue with the following availability.

6:00AM  - 9:00PM  on Friday, August 29th
6:00AM  - 4:00PM on Saturday, August 30
th
6:00AM  - 9:00PM on Sunday, August 31
st
6:00AM  - 12:00PM on Monday, September 1
st

GOLF
Below Rules is a generic format from prior conventions and has NOT been adopted by the FTGL Convention Golf Committee

August 31 Sunday Fun Golf at Crane's Landing, Marriott Lincolnshire Resort:
9AM - Registration
10AM - Tee Off
To govern the tournament, the following rules were developed by the National Convention Golf Committee:


REQUIRED DRESS CODE

ACCEPTABLE:
Men: slacks, nice jeans, walking shorts no shorter than 6” from the knee, collared shirts or full turtleneck, golf shoes or soled tennis shoes.
Women: slacks, nice jeans, walking shorts no shorter than 6” from the knee, tops with 2” shoulder straps.

UNACCEPTABLE:
Men & Women: sweat pants, short shorts, swim trunks, halter tops or strapless tops bare midriffs, high heels.

  • Party ice chests are not allowed on the course or golf carts.
  • All liquid refreshments (agua de pataranta) consumed on the golf course must be purchased from within.

GOLF TOURNAMENT RULES
NOTE: Golf players are limited to those who are registered in this convention!

1. Tournament is individual medal (stroke) play.
2. Handicap will be declared prior or during Friday registration. (no handicap – please provide your average scores)
3. USGA Rules will apply unless modified by local course rules.
4. Hole in all putts. No gimmies.
5. To save time, if a ball maybe lost outside a hazard or out of bound, play a provisional ball before searching for the original ball. (penalty always one stroke and distance)
6. Scorecards:
a. Actual scores must be logged in. Example: A bogey on a par four must scored as 5 (not +1). A par on a par three holes, must scored 3 (not 0).
b. All scores must be totaled including the handicaps.
c. All scorecards must be signed by the scorer and attested by another player in the foursome.
d. Turn in all scorecards to (at the 18th hole) to the designated Golf Tournament Marshal or Chairman.
7. All players will proceed after the game to designated are for refreshments.
8. Trophies:
a. 1st place trophy low gross
b. 2nd place trophy low gross
c. 3rd place trophy low gross
d. 1st place trophy low net
e. 2nd place trophy low net
f. 3rd place trophy low net Long drive #14 hole KP #9 hole
9. Play friendly, let’s have fun and a memorable Convention Golf experience.

TIPS: Be ready for any unexpected weather -- rain gears such as umbrella, rain suits, boots may come in handy. Early birds: practice rounds can be arranged for those planning to arrive a day or two early. Please call or email ahead of time.
